We take the issue of safety and the safeguarding of young people extremely seriously. We operate under the Carlisle Diocese safeguarding policy which all leaders agree to abide by and are given training in. You can find out more about the safeguarding policy via the Carlisle Diocese website.
What if my son/daughter has special needs?
We do everything we can to cater for special needs, whether dietary, physical, or anything else. All we ask is that you let the leaders know what the special needs are.
Do we store contact details?
We want to be able to keep you and your son/daughter informed of activities and events that might be of interest, and we also want to make sure we have up to date information so that we can contact you in an emergency.
We will therefore ask you for contact details for a responsible adult, and we will also ask your specific permission to store the contact details for you and your child.
These details and permissions will be reviewed annually, and you can of course advise us of any changes at any time.
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is the Network Youth Church Minister of Wonder. The Minister will only share the information with those in "Wonder" who need to see it to accomplish it's purposes. No information will be shared with any other organisation or third parties.
What about Venues?
We carry out risk assessments for our activities, and only use premises that are found to be safe and hold up to date public liability insurance.
What about Travel?
Wherever possible we encourage parents and guardians to take responsibility for the travel arrangements to and from the Network Youth Church activities. There may at time be organized transport for activities, in which case you will be informed of the arrangements, and we will abide by the safeguarding policy for transporting young people.
